Every year Atla holds a Lipreading Awareness Week in September, and a lot of our tutors put on free Lipreading taster sessions.
This year, as well as these free tasters, there will be a Lipreading Challange!
Here is how you can get involved.

During Lipreading Awareness Week, you can hold an event, like a coffee morning, but everyone there will wear earplugs, just to get some idea of the problems faced by those of us with hearing loss. You can make a work meeting into the event if you like.

Earplugs are available from Action on Hearing Loss, or Connevens –
This pack of six pairs costs just £1.85!

You can also buy them in Boots.
This is a great, fun way to learn how to include you deaf relative or friend, and you are sure to know someone who is struggling to hear, there are millions of us!
Use our “how to be a hearing aid” leaflet to help you, and let us know about your event so we can put it on our events page, and do let us know how it went.

To find a Taster Session near you go to the Events page and look under September in the Calendar.
